Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of the Nigeria, has reacted to stories making the rounds that Aso Villa Christian Chapel has been locked up by President Bola Tinubu to further advance the cause of Muslim-Muslim ticket which brought his administration.

Remi Tinubu said the report is a total fallacy, adding that the President did not down the Chapel.

According to her, the chapel is locked because the President is yet to pick another Chaplain after the exit of the last Chaplain.

In a statement on Monday, she said contrary to rumours making the round online, her husband still has the right to select a Chaplain for the Aso Villa Chapel.

According to the statement issued by the office of the First- “Our attention has been drawn to a story on social media about the purported closure of the Aso Rock Chapel by the first lady; we wish to state categorically that this is a fabrication and a false representation of the actual situation.

“The first lady never gave such directive that the chapel be shut nor asked for the keys to be handed over to her.

“Presently, there are weekly fellowships going on at the chapel, including midweek fellowship on Tuesdays. However, Mr. President is yet to appoint a Chaplain for the chapel after the exit of the last Chaplain as he only reserves the right to appoint a chaplain.”

It would be recalled that during the campaign period of the 2023 general election, the vice presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Ifeanyi Okowa, asserted that the chapel in Aso Rock would be closed for four years as a result of the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Okowa reportedly stated this at a meeting with members of the Isoko Church Leaders Council held at God’s Fountain of Life Mission, Oleh, Isoko South local government area of the state.

He was quoted to have said- “I believe that this is the time for us to dwell in the light of God so that His will be done in our state and in Nigeria. This is the time for us to rise up in faith and not time to mourn. The church must be prayerful, cautious and have to think from inside.

“It is my prayer that the chapel in Government House, Asaba, will remain to the glory of God.”

Elon Musk’s wealth has again topped US$1 trillion as stocks of his companies SpaceX and Tesla surged.

Forbes estimated the world’s richest man’s net worth at $1 trillion on Monday, an increase of $30.6 billion from Friday last week, the last stock market trading day.

The gain reinforces Musk’s position as the world’s wealthiest person, far ahead of Bezos, who ranks second with a fortune of $371.5 billion. Google co-founder Larry Page followed with $284.3 billion, while Dell Technologies chairman Michael Dell ranked fourth with $272.2 billion.

`Musk became the world’s first trillionaire in June as SpaceX shares soared following its record-breaking initial public offering, but soon lost that status when the stock fell amid concerns about the company’s lofty valuation, according to Bloomberg.

His fortune has approached the trillion-dollar threshold again in recent days as both companies’ shares rallied. Tesla’s third-quarter deliveries exceeded analysts’ expectations last week, helping increase Musk’s wealth by $61 billion on Friday alone.
