Kidnapped pastor Musa: Boko Haram gives church 7 days to pay $32,000 or have him beheaded
If the sum of 24 million CFA francs (approximately $39,180.74 USD) is not paid in the next seven days, the life a Christian clergy, Pastor Paul Musa of the Church of God Mission in Borno may come to an instant death in the hands of terrorist.
According to relatives of the clergyman, Pastor Musa is being held by Boko Haram somewhere in Cameroon.
Reverend David Ayuba Azzaman of Kings Worship Centre International in Kaduna shared this information on Friday, June 28, 2024.
Musa’s son called him from Cameroon and informed him of the terrorists’ demands, according to Azzaman.
Musa is a Pastor at the Church of Christ in Nigeria (COCIN) in Borno.
“Musa and his wife were kidnapped on March 23, 2023, in Gamboru Ngala, along with other Christians, but he is the only one still alive,” Azzaman said.
“The terrorists released a video on Monday, June 24, 2024, giving Musa’s family and church 7 days to pay up or face death. As of Friday, June 29, 2024, he has less than 50 hours left.
The COCIN church has raised an amount and offered it to the terrorists, but the terrorists consider it insufficient.
“His church members were able to raise a small amount of money and sent it to the terrorists, but they refused, adding that it was not sufficient,” according to Azzaman.
The Chairman of the Borno State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Most Rev. Dr. John Bakeni, had earlier vowed to bring the plight of the kidnapped Pastor to the attention of Gov. Baba Umara Zulum, seeking his urgent intervention.
Multiple videos featuring Pastor Musa have surfaced in the past, and CAN has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the safe release of all Christian captives, including Pastor Musa, according to Bakeni.
He made a heartfelt appeal, saying, “I urge the Governor to intervene and secure the safe return of Pastor Musa and his wife. I also call on all Christians across the state and country to pray fervently, seeking God’s intervention and salvation for the Musa family.”

Seyi has been following closely activities of his father since he became president in 2023 and was reported to have played active role during last year’s presidential election.
A group said to be of Nigerian youths, endorsed Seyi Tinubu for governor and urged him to contest for the office in 2027 to succeed Babajide Sanwo-Olu who himself was helped by Tinubu to become President.
The group which described itself as Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders (CONYL) and claimed to represent youth groups from Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, said it preferred the president’s son as its candidate for Lagos State Governor in 2027.
In a statement issued in Owerri, CONYL’s leadership, including President General Comrade Goodluck Ibem, Secretary Comrade Junard Abubakar, Public Relations Officer Comrade Iniobong Sampson, and Publicity Secretary Comrade Adeyemo Adewale, announced their resolution following an ‘extensive meeting.’
The coalition credited its decision to the “transformational performance” and “leadership traits” of President Tinubu during his tenure as Lagos State Governor, saying President Tinubu’s achievements laid the foundation for Lagos’ status as the “Center of Excellence.”
The statement expressed confidence that Seyi Tinubu possesses the leadership qualities needed to build on his father’s achievements, noting that Nigerian youths see him as a symbol of fresh ideas and innovation.
“Lagos State needs a youth with wonderful ideas and experience to govern. Seyi Tinubu is gifted, qualified, experienced, well-read, and capable to lead Lagos State to the promised land come 2027,” the group stated.
