Woman baths husband with hot oil while he was asleep

A woman in Obite1 community of Rivers State, Hope Nwala has reportedly attacked her husband; Ekelediri Nwankwo with hot groundnut oil during an argument.

Obite1 is in Etche Local government area.

After the incident, the victim told the Police what started the argument- “I have told my wife’s younger sister to leave my house because of the way she has started dressing, and the way she occupy my matrimonial bed even when I am around, no young guy will tolerate such behaviour, but my wife has refused the younger sister leave the house.

I also saw my wife alone with one tall black guy in the shop I rented for her, not that he is in for business, he followed my wife and sister here and there, with all these, I gave her younger sister two thousand naira transport to go home so that I can actually understand what is going on in my house, but my wife got upset. While i went to bed to sleep, she used boiled groundnut oil on me, then start hitting me with hammer”.

41 choice properties worth N220b has been traced to Abubakar Malmi, Nigeria’s former Attorney General and Minister of Justice.

Sources from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said that the properties — hotels, residential buildings, lands, schools, and a printing press — are scattered across Kebbi, Kano and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The properties in Kebbi state are valued at N162,195,950,000, while the assets in Kano state are said to be worth N16,011,800,000, and the value of the FCT properties was put at N34,685,000,000.

The federal government has also filed a 16-count charge bordering on money laundering against the former minister and his son, Abdulaziz Malami.

Father and son are accused of committing offences contrary to Sections 15, 18 and 21 of the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act.

Five policemen killed by terrorists in Bauchi

Terrorists have killed five policemen and injured two others during a gun battle at Sabon Sara village, Darazo Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The officers who lost their lives were identified as DSP Ahmad Muhammad (SID), ASP Mustapha Muhammad (10 PMF), Inspector Amarhel Yunusa (10 PMF), Inspector Idris Ahmed (10 PMF) and Corporal Isah Muazu (AKU).

Two others identified as Inspector Isah Musa (SID) and Inspector Yusuf Gambo (SID), sustained injuries of varying degrees.

In a statement on Sunday, the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, said the attack occurred on Saturday, November 22, 2025, after police received intelligence from a good Samaritan who reported suspicious activities involving armed Fulani youths in the area.

Wakil said a combined tactical team comprising the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Mobile Police 10 PMF, Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) and State Intelligence Department (SID) was on an intelligence-led visibility patrol to curb farmer-herder conflict when the officers were ambushed.

“The Bauchi State Police Command, regrettably and sorrowfully, wishes to inform the general public of an unfortunate and tragic incident involving combined police tactical teams on an intelligence-led visibility patrol within Sabon Sara village, via Darazo,” the statement said.

He said police personnel engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel and neutralised a reasonable number of the attackers.

According to Wakil, police personnel and the units, “did not fall short of expectations as our personnel neutralise reasonable number of the bandits at the gun duel point.”

Wakil said that after the distress report was received, the Divisional Police Officer in Darazo, SP Auwalu Ilu, led a reinforcement team to the scene, where the injured officers were rescued and the bodies of the deceased were evacuated to the General Hospital, Darazo.

The police spokesman added that intensive efforts were ongoing to track down the fleeing attackers, assuring the public that the Command remained committed to ensuring the perpetrators are brought to justice.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, later visited the scene for an on-the-spot assessment and condoled with the families of the slain officers.

He reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to protect lives and property across the state.

Customs officer found dead in hotel after spending time with three women

An Assistant Superintendent of Customs (ASC) Lawal Tukur, has been found dead in a hotel room in Katsina metropolis.

According to Zagazola Reports, the incident took place Wednesday, October 15 at Murjani Hotel, where Tukur had checked in. Hotel workers reportedly found him lifeless around 8:30 a.m. and immediately alerted the authorities.

The report had it that empty sachets of unidentified substances were found in a wastebasket in the room. Three women Khadija Ali, 34, from Dutsin Amare Quarters, Katsina; Aisha Lawal, 30, from Ingawa LGA; and Hafsat Yusuf, 22, from Brigade Quarters, Kano were said to have been at the hotel during the incident.

It was gathered that Khadija and Aisha spent the night with the officer, while Hafsat joined them later and also stayed at the hotel.
The deceased’s body was taken to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Katsina, where doctors confirmed his death before it was moved to the mortuary for autopsy.

The Nigeria Customs Service has reportedly been notified, and investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of death.
