Why Regina Daniels Cannot Make Financial Claims from Ned Nwoko’s Multi-Billion Naira Wealth
Although available data has it that Senator Chinedu Munir Nwoko’s wealth is estimated to be $1.2 billion as of 2025, his estranged wife, Regina Daniels is not likely to get one penny from the billionaire’s wealth, if their fractured marriage remains permanently unresolved.
The controversial lawyer, politician, business mogul and lawmaker, recently had issues with Regina, one of his six wives which made her leave his home after. She had earlier posted a video of their fight on social media which went viral.
Before leaving her marriage, Regina had openly expressed discomfort, emotional stress, and the constant pressure she felt in the marriage and even accused her husband of undermining her human dignity.
In a widely circulated video, Regina said that despite being called a queen, that she was not treated like one. In the video, she alleged that her marriage was full of thorns even though the public perceive her as sleeping on a bed of roses, adding that she was treated like a slave in what was supposed to be her kingdom.
As a Prince, born into the royal family of the Nwokos of Idumuje Ugboko Kingdom in Aniocha North LGA, Delta State, the 65 years old billionaire married Regina Daniels, according to the customs and traditions of his people, also known as customary marriage.
The nature of his marriage to the other five wives is not known to the public. However, based on his customary marriage to Regina Daniels, the mother of two may not have any legal right to demand a fraction of his wealth, as would have been in the case, if they had contracted statutory marriage.
According to Igbo customary marriage laws, Regina Daniels’ parents are even required to return the money Ned paid to them as bride price during the marriage, before she would be considered as totally free from him. Therefore, she is still tied to his whims, even though she has moved out of his home.
So far, Regina Daniels, seems to have settled for a new life after she moved to the United Kingdom where she is currently training to become a Chef at one of the top restaurants in London, with the dream of returning to Nigeria later to open eateries in Abuja and Lagos.
Strong indications have emerged that the once fragile woman has steeled herself to face the realities of life outside marriage as can be testified from her social media posts she shared when she arrived in London.
Radiating beauty, with a calm expression, Regina wrote in a simple caption- “As I dey find my way, at the same time I dey my lane.. Type shiit,” indicating she was not bothered with anybody’s opinion of her new self and journey of life.
The actress recently revealed that she bought a new home for herself and explained that she needed “a roof over her head”, so she got one for herself and her family.
She later posted a photo in a black dress, a look she described as mourning her past, which went viral after she told Ned Nwoko to “get a new wife” and leave her alone.
In a most recent report, Regina Daniels was quoted to have ruled out the possibility of getting married again, saying that she was “traumatised with that institution,” which was interpreted to indicate a finality in her decision.
