How to protect your child from hypertension by Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim

Just like adults, children can also develop high blood pressure, which can lead to serious health problems if left untreated.
In Nigeria, about 1 – 2 out of every 25 children have high blood pressure.
If high blood pressure runs in your family, your child might be at a higher risk of hypertension.
Consuming foods with high salt content can raise blood pressure, so it’s important to watch what your child eats.
Being overweight puts extra strain on the heart and can increase the risk of hypertension. Therefore you should encourage healthy eating and active play among your children.
Children with high blood pressure may not show any symptoms. That’s why regular check-ups are crucial.
Regular blood pressure checks during Paediatric visits can help catch hypertension early before complications develop.
By promoting healthy habits like eating fruits and vegetables, staying active, and limiting screen time, you can help prevent hypertension in your child.

2face mother to Natasha: Free my son, he is going through a lot

The mother of veteran singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as “2face,” has called on Nigerians to intervene and urge Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru to free her son, saying the singer is going through divorce and not in his right senses.
In a viral video posted on Thursday evening, Mrs. Rose Idibia revealed that the 49 year old singer is currently not in the right frame of mind due to ongoing divorce proceedings with his estranged wife, Annie.
She therefore pleaded with Osawaru, saying, “Good evening, Nigerians. My name is Mrs. Rose Idibia, the mother of 2face. This message is for Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo State. I’m calling on all mothers in Nigeria to help me beg her to free my son.
“He’s not in his right senses; leave my son alone.
“My son is going through a divorce process, and he is clearly not in his right senses now. I know my son well. That is not him. Please, Natasha, the beads you put on his hand and neck, remove them and free him.”

Junior Pope had no peace in marriage before his death, actress Esther Nwachukwu reveals

Before his death, Nollywood actor, Junior Odonwodo, popularly known as Junior Pope was in a terrible marital situation as his wife was always giving him trouble.
Esther Nwachukwu, an actress, made the revelation, adding that the late actor confided in her about his marital issues before his death on April 10, 2024.
Recall that Esther recently criticised Pope’s wife for attending a social event, saying she should have mourned her husband for at least six months or one year.
Shortly after his death, some persons, including social media personality, Very Dark Man, had alleged that Pope had stated that he was going through some issues he wanted to share with the public.
Esther Nwachukwu told Saturday Beats that- “When Junior Pope was alive, the wife never gave him peace. She disturbed him a lot. I actually dated Junior Pope, and I still have his name tattooed on my body. While we were together (dating), he told me how his wife used to disturb him. But, one thing about him is that he likes to trend. He would be going through a lot, but would still come on social media to post (pictures and videos of) his family. From December 2023, he stopped posting (pictures of) his wife like before. That was when they started having issues. Sometimes, he wouldn’t sleep in his house, but would rather stay in hotels.
“I am sure some people who were close to him knew about it. But, because he had painted himself as a good husband online, he did not know how to tell people about his issues. That was why he died in silence.”
Nwachukwu said, “A grieving wife wouldn’t have come out barely two months after the death of her husband. She came out and acted like all was well, and because many Nigerians like eye service, she decided to dress in black, so people would think she was mourning. A young widow is not supposed to just go about her business like that. We all know she isn’t hungry, because there is money. Nigerians are good at sympathising with people, and I know they must have helped her in so many ways.”
